Repair Technician

Summary of Position:

Evaluates and inspects instruments at various stages and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. Perform repairs of mechanical and electrical assemblies and subassemblies through removals, repair or replacement of defective parts and/or fabrication of replacement parts, and installations in accordance with blueprints, component maintenance manuals, vendor documents, verbal instructions, engineering dispositions, On The Job Training (OJT), and other authorized maintenance data. All activities to be in accordance with Repair Station requirements ensuring all parts and assemblies meet conformance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

▪ Inspection, testing and evaluating incoming articles per FAA Approved data, drawings, specifications, airworthiness directives and bulletins, or other technical data approved by the FAA Administrator.
▪ Ensuring that quality work is performed per FAA approved data and procedures and documented correctly.
▪ Requesting any technical materials, tooling, and resources needed to perform work
▪ Plans and performs calibration certification services
▪ Perform major & minor assembly, disassembly, cleaning, inspection & disposition of various types of components & accessories as required.
▪ Handle, and install expensive, delicate components requiring precision, use of hand tools, and specialized equipment
▪ Complete all assigned documents, routers, and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP's).
▪ Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results)
▪ Assisting in creation of Repair Processes, and Bill of Materials needed to accomplish repair.
▪ Perform general departmental housekeeping regularly
▪ Sustain production standards and quality
▪ Perform in-process visual inspections, dimensional inspections and cosmetic final clean up
▪ Regular attendance and punctuality required

Qualifications:
▪ High school diploma or equivalent education, training, and/or related work experience.
▪ 0-2 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
▪ Must be able to work with ITAR products and related data without restriction.

Skill Set Required:
▪ Use of basic hand tools and measuring devices (calipers, etc.)
▪ Basic understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation
▪ Basic computer skills
▪ Basic math skills (i.e., may have to do conversions to decimals)
▪ Basic verbal and written communication skills

Physical Requirements:
▪ Restrictions limited only by individual’s inability to perform essential job duties and where an unsafe condition would result for the individual or surrounding employees.
▪ Required lifting weight: 35 lbs. Lifting Frequency: Daily
▪ Sitting, standing, reaching, bending, and moving for extended periods of time.
▪ Ability to work in a Manufacturing environment.

Work Environment:
▪ Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
▪ Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment
▪ Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable
▪ Requires repetitive movement

Safety Hazard:
▪ Works with power tools and equipment.
▪ Requires the use of proper PPE when necessary
▪ Constantly working with computers, test equipment, and calibration procedures that require extended periods of sitting and concentration.
