Mig Welder
Pay: $16.00 – $18.00 per hour
6:30am-4pm, Monday – Friday
Staffworks Group is looking for Experienced Mig Welders for a company specializing in making custom sheet metal fabrication operations more productive. This is a “job shop” environment in a modern state-of-the-art LED lit facility located in Twinsburg. Our customer is a growing Application Engineering Services company covering all aspects of fabrication.
The MIG Welders here perform cosmetic welding for all custom fabrication with very tight tolerances on both steel and stainless with varying thickness using all new, cutting-edge equipment. These positions are meant to be career jobs with the customer, NOT short-term.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read blueprints and shop drawings to weld metal parts according to specifications
- Fit and weld both steel and stainless material in thickness from 16ga to 3/8’’
- All welding is cosmetic, and tolerances above +/- .030’’
- Utilize .045’’ ER70s-6 steel MIG wire for all steel welding
- Make all welding machine adjustments to meet company and customer weld quality
- Make machine adjustments to adhere to hold tight tolerance standards
- Inspect all manufactured parts to assure quality standards are held
- Use of general industry tools such as calipers, height gauge, squares, protractor, and tape measure
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 1 year experience working in a “job shop” setting
- Experience performing cosmetic welding
- Experience welding to tolerances above +/- .030’’
- Must have background in both steel and stainless welding practices
- Must be able to make all welding machine adjustments to meet company and customer weld quality.
- Ability to fit and weld material in thickness from 16ga to 3/8’’
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings
- Experience using .045’’ ER70s-6 steel MIG wire for steel welding preferred
- Experience using general industry tools such as calipers, height gauge, squares, protractor, and tape measure
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. throughout the day
- Must have steel toes
