Marine Mechanic:
Minimum: 1-year marine mechanic experience with outboard or inboard engines
Pay Rate: $30-$35 (or more based on experience)
Mechanics will inspect, maintain, and repair boats of all kinds. Using diagnostic equipment, test and repair Outboard and Inboard diesel and gas marine engines, propellers, steering gear, and accessories.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment to test and repair boat engines, propellers, steering systems
  • Troubleshoot, test, repair, replace, remove, and install vessel systems and components
  • Conduct thorough assessment prior to starting a job including acknowledging the budgeted time
  • Frame for completion, proving the system and the element requiring service, sourcing parts if required
  • Assign parts and purchases to the appropriate vessels/tickets
  • Availability to work overtime to meet deadlines
Technical and Physical Requirements
  • 3-5 years’ marine mechanic experience preferred
  • ABYC and/or manufacturer certifications preferred
  • Ability to ascend and descend a ladder
  • Must carry own tools
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Basic boat handling skills preferred
