Job Description
Die Maker/Repair
6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday – Friday
$17 - 25/hour depending on experience
Staffworks Group has an immediate opening for an experienced Tool and Die Maker for manufacturer of Springs, Metallic and Non-Metallic Stampings, Wire Forms and Welded Assemblies to customers worldwide located in Cleveland.
The primary purpose of this position is to support tooling necessary for the manufacturing process. This position reports to the Tooling Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurately machine parts needed using- cc mills, manual mills, surface grinders, lathes, and other various types of Tool room equipment.
- Read and understand blueprints or detailed drawings.
- Identify weak areas in tools and suggest changes to foreman in order to reduce unforeseen problems.
- Understand Quality Systems policies and record keeping pertaining to work area.
- Understand and use the company's safety policies and procedures, appropriate safety and protection equipment, and safety practices appropriate to the assigned work unit.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Tooling Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 2-4 years of experience in Tool and Die Making
- Experience using- cc mills, manual mills, surface grinders, lathes
- Good understanding of the planning and construction of tools, dies, fixtures, and gages to be used in company operations.
- Basic math skills: such as: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals in order to read understand and operate measurement instruments and work documents.
- Basic mechanical and production skills such as operating various types of production equipment desired.
- High school diploma or GED, or formal tool and die instruction by an accredited trade school with on the job training.
- Functional use of basic trigonometric functions on calculators or equivalent to determine layout of work.
- Able to work independently.
- Recognize and report problems to supervisor in a timely fashion.
This job requires that weight be lifted or force be exerted up to 50 pounds up to 1/3 of the time.
