The Buyer is responsible for supervision work and activities in all manners of the day-to-day operation of the Purchasing and Logistics Division. This person creates, reviews, evaluates, and monitors department purchase requisitions for proper authorizations, specifications and correct end user specifications. 
Essential Duties and Accountabilities 
  1. Works with employees to correct deficiencies and implement discipline.
  2. Reviews, evaluates, and monitors department purchase requisitions for proper authorizations, specifications, and correct end user specifications
  3.  Assists in the evaluation of goods and services as needed.
  4. Negotiates prices and terms; makes vendors recommendations for supplies, equipment, and services.
  5. Contact suppliers for prices and availability and analyze cost comparison to determine appropriate vendor.
  6. Creates Suppliers accounts in Oracle System.
  7. Evaluates bids and the dependability of suppliers and monitors their progress.
  8. Assists in maintaining the goals, standards, and objectives of the Supply Chain Department.
  9. Responsible for analyzing lead-times and identify material deficiencies.
  10. Audits invoices and materials/items received for accuracy.
  11. Research product market comparison related to direct and indirect materials supplies and makes information available to production.
  12. Works closely with customer service and production personnel to maintain a “just-in-time-level” of warehouse inventory.
  13. Interacts with suppliers, and inter-departmental personnel.
  14. Responsible for working according to the company’s safety and quality standards.
  15. Maintains a safe and clean work area.
  16. Performs other related duties as required and or as assigned.

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent. 
  • Minimum two (2) to five (5) years of experience in relevant purchasing or logistic experience; with focus on warehouse/inventory management and transportation management.
  • Ability to use computer software and applications.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function for this position
  • Must read, write, and understand English.
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
  • Requires sitting for a prolonged period of time. 
  • Requires dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper. 
  • Requires occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. 
  • Requires minimum reaching for items above and below desk level. 
  • Requires strength, coordination, and vision to use keyboard and video display terminal for prolonged periods.
