Job Description

Assistant Controller needed for a Medical Manufacturing company is St. Petersburg, FL.  

EDUCATION: BA degree preferred with a concentration in Accounting, Business and/or related field

EXPERIENCE: 2+ years of accounting experience required. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft products and basic computer programs.

JOB SUMMARY: The position works closely with the Controller on monthly financial data and reporting, generates various reports relating to financial data, commissions, sales and inventory.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
 Prepare and maintain formal procedures relative to areas of responsibility
 Assist the A/P and A/R Manager as needed with regards to A/P questions, and credit card/expense report analysis
 Review and work with International Subsidiaries on month and year end.
 Prepare and maintain monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts to the subsidiary ledgers for all domestic and International Subsidiaries as determined by the Controller.
 Manage and maintain various schedules relative to specific G/L accounts to accomplish the accurate financial reporting for Domestic and International Subsidiaries.
 Process weekly payroll and its related reports
 Prepare various and miscellaneous as needed, one-time reports, analysis and projects from time to time as may be requested by others through the Controller
 Bank Reconciliations
 Assist during the annual physical count inventory for verification, reconciliation and preparation of adjusting entries
 Assist during the annual year-end financial review per requests from the Controller and external review team
 Other projects and duties as assigned

MENTAL & PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS
 Able to sit for extended periods of time
 Able to lift up to 35lbs
 Read, interpret, and follow safety rules and procedures in accordance to Alps Quality Policy
 Near visual acuity and accommodation required for computer operation
 Ability to communicate on current telephone system

 Office environment, i.e. moderate noise levels. No physical hazards identified
 Vision requirements include reading written documents and using a computer monitor screen frequently

SPECIAL SKILLS:
 Ability to show initiative with a high level of energy
 Ability to maintain positive relationships with team members, vendors, and customers
 Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
 Working knowledge of basic computer programs

Hours:  Monday thru Friday - 8am to 5:30 pm
Pay Rate: $31.25/hr
